Workshops: macroeconomic impact modeling

Events

On June 24 and 25, 2015, the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests organized the final workshops regarding the macroeconomic impact modeling component, within the OPERA-CLIMA project (”Operationalization of the national strategy on climate change and development of the climate component within the 2014-2020 Operational Programs”).

The two workshops summarized the accomplishments and key developments obtained within the project, including the presentation of the ROM-E3 model for Romania and the user’s guidelines. The meetings highlighted the main characteristics of this macroeconomic model developed within the project, presenting the manner in which it can be utilized for analyzing of the policies with climate impact.

Thus, on June 24, 2015, the structure of the ROM-E3 model was presented to the guests, and on June 25, 2015 various types of scenarios (basic, policies) were submitted for analysis.

Being grounded on the GEM-E3 model, the ROM-E3 model can evaluate a higher number of policies on climate changes. The final version of the model has reached a high level of complexity, and that it is why it can be utilized in order to support a range of policy options. The model was developed with the view of consolidating the local economic impact modeling capacities and encouraging the experience exchange.
